Terry Tempest Williams @ UAF

World Renowned Conservationist and Author

Tuesday Sept. 14, 2010 - 7:30pm

Wood Center Ballroom, UAF

Terry Tempest Williams will present this year’s Bartlett Lecture Tuesday, Sept. 14th at 7:30 pm in the Wood Center Ballroom at UAF. Williams’ expansive career in the field of conservation spans fourteen books and five honorary doctoral degrees. Her writing centers largely on the conservation of our nation’s land.

Williams creates a synthesis of a science-oriented argument for conservation while maintaining a poetic appreciation for nature, a bond codified by Williams’ own exploration and experimentation in the world’s remaining untouched wilderness. She was actively involved in protests against nuclear testing in the deserts of Nevada, has received the highest honor from The Wilderness Society, and has experienced the wilderness of countries all around the world. This FREE lecture is a MUST attend event!

An informal reception will be held earlier on Tuesday (from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in Wood Center E / F). Williams will sign books after her evening lecture.
