Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world. Their international Women's Opportunity Awards program disperses nearly one million dollars annually to help women reclaim their dreams of a better life for themselves and their families.
The local Women's Opportunity Award application period is open through December 15th.

We have one paper copy of the Women's Opportunity Awards program application available in the Women's Center, 112 Eielson Building, UAF Campus. We'll hand over this paper copy of the application to the first person who stops in to request the application. Others can download the application from online. If you plan to use the online application, make sure to print out the Reference Forms, obtain references, fill out and submit the forms and application by DECEMBER 15th, 2010 to:
Since 1993, more than $2 million in scholarships to support education and leadership development has been awarded to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) and straight-ally students.
Pride Foundation scholarships are available for students from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. Full details on who qualifies for a scholarship are available here.
