Soroptimist Women's Opportunity Award $$ Available

Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world. Their international Women's Opportunity Awards program disperses nearly one million dollars annually to help women reclaim their dreams of a better life for themselves and their families.

The local Women's Opportunity Award application period is open through December 15th.

We'll hand over this paper copy of the application to the first person who stops in to request the application. Others can download the application from online. LGBTQ&A Scholarships!

Since 1993, more than $2 million in scholarships to support education and leadership development has been awarded to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) and straight-ally students. 

Pride Foundation scholarships are available for students from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. Full details on who qualifies for a scholarship are available here.

New applicants must first register for a new account. Further application instructions and eligibility requirements are discussed on the above site. Applications are due at 5:00 p.m. PST on January 31, 2011.
